Planning your Winter wardrobe

Brrr,  I have new Ugg Boots!  How apt, it is cold and after a few weeks in the sun I am feeling it!  However they are pretty cool ugg boots – with a touch of calf skin on the side panels and oh so warm…  So how do we make sure we plan a sound and user friendly winter wardrobe and ensure that we do get out of our ugg boots!

It is really important to plan, as winter shopping involves more big ticket items than the warmer months.  Here are my top five tips for planning your winter wardrobe:

1.    Throw away clothes you have not worn for the past 2 years, that are too small or big or out of date then….
2.    Buy a colourful winter coat it will brighten up your day and every time you put it on you will feel a little winter lift!
3.    Don’t forget to layer – stock up on those pieces that extend your summer clothes and keep you warm.
4.    Buy the best winter boots you can afford  – they should do you 2 to 5 years.
5.    Invest in a dress…  They take you everywhere and are so easy when you have the I don’t know what to wear phenomena…

Here are some of my favourite winter coats so far, have a peek and don’t forget to like us on Facebook. Today’s images are from Andrea Moore, Trelise Cooper and Workshop.

  1. Would be great to see an article for those on a limited budget including where to get cheaper alternatives for “designer” outfits and how to update an outfit e.g. with the use of accessories etc.

    • Sorry for the delay, I will pass on your comments and arrange for an article to be written on shopping on or to a budget.

    • Thank you so much for your reply. It is fantastic to have feedback like this. Watch out for next weeks blog….
